Nyando Social Justice Center Leads Formation of Mental Health Sub-County Committee in Ahero

On September 26th, Caren Wambui of Nyando Social Justice Center was honored to be invited as a stakeholder in the formation of the Mental Health Sub-County Committee held at Ahero County Hospital. This meeting marked a crucial step toward strengthening mental health advocacy and services in the region.

During the meeting, stakeholders collaboratively developed a comprehensive roadmap for rolling out multiple community sensitization activities focused on mental health across Nyando Sub-County. These initiatives aim to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote access to mental health care and support networks.

Caren also took on the important role of monitoring the committee’s reporting tool, ensuring transparency and efficient tracking of activities. In recognition of her leadership and dedication, she was elected chairperson of the committee.

These groundbreaking activities are supported by TINADA Organization, which continues to empower local efforts to improve mental health outcomes.

Nyando Social Justice Center celebrates this milestone and remains committed to promoting mental health awareness and services as an integral part of overall community well-being in Nyando and beyond.
