Caren Wambui from Nyando Social Justice Center attended a two-day debrief meeting hosted by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) in Kisumu on October 3rd and 4th, 2025. The meeting brought together representatives from various social justice centers to review ongoing human rights initiatives and challenges faced within their respective communities.

The debrief provided a platform for sharing experiences, best practices, and lessons learned in advancing human rights, equity, and social justice. Participants discussed strategies to strengthen collaboration between grassroots organizations and KNCHR to enhance advocacy, monitoring, and protection of human rights in Kenya.
This engagement reaffirmed Nyando Social Justice Center’s commitment to working closely with KNCHR in safeguarding fundamental freedoms and promoting inclusive governance for all citizens. It also strengthened the center’s capacity to address human rights issues affecting the Nyando community effectively.
Through such collaborations, Nyando Social Justice Center continues to play a significant role in fostering a culture of human rights awareness, accountability, and justice within Kisumu County and beyond.
Together, we advance human rights for a just and equitable society.
