NSJC Honors Swearing-In of Elected Officials for Greater Nyando Bunge Mashinani

Following the formation of the Greater Nyando Bunge Mashinani, Caren Wambui of Nyando Social Justice Center was honored to officiate the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected officials on September 29th, 2025.

Bunge Mashinani are local, informal grassroots forums where community members from all ages and social backgrounds come together to discuss social issues affecting them. The primary goal is to foster inclusion and collective problem-solving by developing local solutions to local challenges directly within the community.

These forums serve as important platforms that enhance democratic participation by bringing governance closer to the people. Through these local gatherings, community voices are amplified, accountability is strengthened, and social cohesion is encouraged.

Nyando Social Justice Center continues to support and champion the Bunge Mashinani as a vital mechanism for inclusive governance and community empowerment in Greater Nyando. This initiative exemplifies how bringing people together fosters shared responsibility and accelerates meaningful development.

Together, we build stronger communities through inclusive dialogue and collective action.
