After hosting donors for their food security project on June 14th, the leadership at Nyando Social Justice Center (NSJC) had the privilege of attending and participating in the annual Nyando Law Courts Open Day. This important judicial event is designed to educate and sensitize the community about the various functions of the court system and how citizens can effectively access justice.
Promoting Access to Justice
The Open Day serves as a bridge between the judiciary and the local community, providing an open forum where residents can learn about their rights, court processes, and available legal resources. By fostering transparency and dialogue, the event helps build trust and encourages more people to seek justice when needed.
A Day of Learning and Celebration
In addition to the informative sessions, the event featured a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony—a gesture that celebrated unity and the ongoing partnership between the courts and the community. The day concluded with a shared lunch at Grand Forty Hotel, offering an opportunity for further networking and informal engagement among all participants.
NSJC’s Ongoing Commitment
Nyando Social Justice Center remains committed to empowering the community through legal awareness and advocacy. By participating in the Nyando Law Courts Open Day, NSJC continues to champion the cause of accessible justice for all, ensuring that every resident knows their rights and the avenues available for legal support.
Together, NSJC and the community are building a foundation of justice, transparency, and mutual respect.
