Donors Visit Nyando Social Support Group’s Food Security Project

Celebrating Sustainable Farming

14th June 2025, was a day of celebration and gratitude at Nyando Social Justice Center, as our support group welcomed donors who have been instrumental in advancing our food security initiatives. Their ongoing support has enabled us to take bold steps in sustainable agriculture, and the results are truly inspiring.

Innovative Approaches to Food Security

With the help of our donors, the project began with soil sampling and ploughing, followed by the application of ROCK DUST fertilizer and the provision of quality seeds. ROCK DUST, a natural soil amendment, has proven to be a game-changer for our farmers. Not only does it enrich the soil for up to five years, but it also does so cost-effectively and without weakening the land - a critical factor for long-term sustainability.

Impressive Results and Growing Yields

Eighteen months since the project’s inception, our farmers are still enjoying increased yields. The impact of ROCK DUST has been remarkable, with healthier crops and improved harvests that are helping to secure food for families in our community. This success story is a testament to what is possible when innovation meets community-driven action.

International Interest and Exciting Prospects

Today’s visit was made even more special by the presence of a Japanese guest, who was deeply impressed by the project’s outcomes. Their keen interest signals the potential for even greater collaboration - and we are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of tractors from Japan, which will further boost our capacity and efficiency in the fields.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our donors and partners who have believed in our vision for food security and sustainable agriculture. Their support has not only transformed our soil but also the lives of many families in Nyando.

At Nyando Social Justice Center, we remain committed to innovative, sustainable solutions that empower our community. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow, learn, and harvest hope together!

Together, we are cultivating resilience and abundance for generations to come.
