Community Leaders Monitoring (CLM) Inception Meeting in Vihiga

On June 5th, 2025, Nyando Social Justice Center joined fellow stakeholders at the Community Leaders Monitoring (CLM) Inception Meeting held in Vihiga County. This important initiative, funded by the Global Fund and implemented by AMREF Health Africa, marks a significant step toward strengthening community-led accountability and improving health outcomes across our region.

Building Stronger Partnerships for Health Accountability

The CLM project is designed to empower local leaders and communities to actively monitor health services, identify gaps, and advocate for improvements. At the inception meeting, participants—including civil society organizations, health officials, and community representatives—engaged in robust discussions on collaborative approaches to CLM implementation. The focus was on sharing best practices, aligning strategies, and ensuring that community voices are at the center of monitoring processes.

Addressing Emerging Issues Together

In addition to planning for effective CLM rollout, the meeting provided a platform to raise and address emerging issues affecting health service delivery. Stakeholders explored ways to overcome challenges such as resource limitations, data collection barriers, and the need for continuous capacity building among community monitors.

Our Commitment to Community-Led Change

Nyando Social Justice Center is proud to be part of this transformative initiative. We believe that when communities are empowered to monitor and advocate for their health needs, real and sustainable change is possible. Through ongoing collaboration with Amref, the Global Fund, and other partners, we are committed to ensuring that health services are responsive, equitable, and accountable to the people they serve.

As the CLM project moves forward, we encourage all community members and stakeholders to stay engaged and support these efforts. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier future for Vihiga, Nyando, and beyond.
